Xi Chapter Foundation, Inc. is the fundraising arm of Xi Chapter.  We collaborate with the leadership at the House Corporation and the leadership at the Active Chapter to help maintain Xi’s leading role in the Fraternity scene at DePauw.  We do this in a number of ways.  We are recognized as having the best Fraternity physical plant on campus.  This is the result of consistently maintaining and upgrading our building.  Recent investments include a $335,000 investment to upgrade and modernize the HVAC.  A well maintained building gives us many advantages in rush.  Success in rush makes us more financially self sustainable.  

 

We also use Foundation funds to inspire the men to achieve academically.  For quite some time our fraternity has placed first or second academically among fraternities.  Each Spring and each Fall we hold an Academic Award Banquet where the men and DePauw faculty attend and celebrate their success.  Monetary awards are made to the three students in each class with the highest grade point average (amounts decline accordingly) and to the three students in each class with the most improvement.  This program has played a key role in channeling the competitive instincts of young men into demonstrating academic excellence.  As a result of our partnership with the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne (CFGFW), we have built an important permanent endowment to ensure that these awards will continue into the future.  Each year we benefit from a 20% matching grant from the CFGFW on the first $50,000 raised.  Our goal is to continue to grow the endowment so that the amount of the awards can be increased.
